My Studio: Where the Work Happens
My studio is not just a place where I paint — it’s where I think, reflect, and allow ideas to surface. It’s where colour meets emotion, and where time slips by unnoticed.
This space doesn’t follow rules. Some days it’s quiet and ordered; on others it’s layered with canvases, brushes, and the traces of works in progress. Each mark left behind tells a small story of exploration, of decisions made and unmade.
I rarely begin with a fixed plan. Instead, I start with a feeling — sometimes a colour, sometimes a memory — and allow the work to unfold. The studio gives me permission to experiment, to make mistakes, and to sit with uncertainty until something meaningful emerges.
Light plays an important role here. It shifts throughout the day, changing how colours speak to one another. I often pause just to observe this, letting it guide the next brushstroke.
This is also a place of quiet resilience. Creating isn’t always easy, but within these walls I’ve learned that progress doesn’t need to be loud or fast. It simply needs to be honest.
My studio is where the work happens — not just on the canvas, but within myself.
